Day 1
ARRIVAL & WELCOME
Arrive in vibrant Rio de Janeiro, where a private transfer whisks you to your hotel. In the evening, the group gathers for a warm and stylish welcome dinner featuring a three-course meal and a signature welcome drink, the perfect first taste of Brazil’s energy. After dinner, return to the hotel to rest and recharge.

RIO FROM ABOVE & COMMUNITY EXPERIENCE
Start the morning with a thrilling helicopter ride over Rio, taking in jaw-dropping views of Copacabana, Christ the Redeemer, and the emerald mountains. After lunch, dive into culture with a guided Favela Tour, focused on history, resilience, and community connection. Late afternoon return to the hotel.

ICONIC RIO
A full day celebrating Rio’s world-famous highlights. Visit the majestic Christ the Redeemer, enjoy lunch, and glide up to Sugarloaf Mountain by cable car for sweeping views that define the city’s magic. Rest at the hotel afterward.
Day 4
LITTLE AFRICA & SAMBA
Immerse yourself in the powerful story of Little Africa, exploring Afro-Brazilian history, rhythm, and resistance. After lunch, guests join a lively samba class, followed by a colorful stop at the iconic Selarón Steps. Late afternoon return to the hotel.

JOURNEY TO SALVADOR
Fly to the soulful city of Salvador, where a guided visit to the Historic Center reveals its Afro-Bahian heritage, colonial architecture, and unmistakable charm.

BEACH DAY IN BAHIA
A day dedicated to relaxation at a beautiful beach club. Enjoy the coastline, connect with fellow travelers, and embrace Bahia’s laid-back rhythm.

MAROON COMMUNITY VISIT
Visit a traditional maroon (quilombo) community, learning about ancestral traditions, palm oil production, cassava flour preparation, and daily life. Enjoy a cultural exchange highlighted by a spirited samba presentation.

AFRO BAHIAN FLAVORS

There are two options to pay for the trip. You can make a full payment immediately upon booking or pay a $350 deposit and the rest in instalments that you are comfortable in running up to 40 days to the trip departure. Deposit is non-refundable if cancellations are made after 40 days to the departure date. Payments can be done via direct bank or mobile transfers – transfer details will be sent upon booking.
We aim to keep the trips small and intimate so we can all get to create long-lasting friendships. 8 to 15 people max depending on the destination.
Yes men are welcome to join unless it is stated as an all girls trip.
Local flights and transportation in the itinerary during the trip are included in the tour package. But since we have guests joining us from all over the world, we are not able to include international flights in the budget to the discovery destination. We can however advise you on the best and affordable flight options.
The itinerary advertised is made in advance in collaboration with travel experts who are locals and with experience from our founders previous trips. We will do our best to stick to the schedule, however some aspects may change due to various aspects out of our control like weather changes or flight cancellations etc. We will act accordingly and find alternative plans during such eventualities.
Rooms will be assigned on double occupancy. All rooms have two single beds with an en suite bathroom. If you wish to have a room on your own, a fee is applicable. Please let us know when making the booking.
Our trips are all about creating a community of long lasting friendships. 6 weeks before the trip, we will create a whatsApp, Telegram or Facebook group where we can mingle and get to know each other and even find a roommate! Rooms will be shared on double occupancy with your travel partner/friend. If travelling alone, you will be paired randomly with another traveler. If you would wish to have your own room, let us know for a single room fee.
A negative Covid-19 test or proof of full Covid-19 is mandatory for all trips. All COVID-19 protocols in the various destination countries must also be observed.
Yes, unless stated otherwise. We are however available to plan similar experiences and discoveries for friends, families or groups if not able to join us on the dates stated.
Due to the preparations involved, prepayments made with the service providers and this being a small group tour, there will be no refund of the deposit. If you cancel your trip, you are welcome to transfer the trip to another person who is interested or to email us to discuss the possibility of joining another trip. We can offer a refund, only if we can find a replacement for your slot. You are eligible for a FULL REFUND of anything above the deposit , if you cancel more than 40 days before the trip. If you are entitled to a refund, Please allow us 7 to 10 working days to process your request. You are also entitled to a FULL REFUND of and any payment made if your deposit payment was made to a waiting list and you never got a slot on the trip.
Yes. Once you secure your slot with a deposit, the payment towards your trip can be paid out in flexible instalments that are comfortable for you. We provide flexible payment plans for all travellers, please let us know what works best for you.
